To Strengthen Caregivers and build Resilient Families

Social Uplift Africa works to improve outcomes for children with developmental delays and disabilities by strengthening caregiver skills, supporting household resilience, and connecting families with appropriate resources. Our approach combines evidence-informed interventions with practical support tailored to the needs of underserved families in Kenya.

Caregiver Skills Training

Caregiver Livelihoods Support

Foundational Household Resilience

We work with a partner, Whole Family Collective, to implement the World Health Organization's Caregiver Skills Training (WHO CST) program. This program equips caregivers with practical strategies to support their children's communication, engagement, development and participation in everyday life.

We are developing a livelihoods programme for caregivers with demonstrated business acumen, combining low-interest repayable business grants with a revolving community lending fund to support viable income-generating activities.

We plan to provide small unconditional household grants to help eligible families address essential needs, complementing livelihoods support and recognising that not every household need can be met through business financing.

How Our Model Works

01 · Partner and Coordinate

We work with like-minded organizations both locally and internationally together with relevant service providers to coordinate programme delivery and connect families with appropriate support.

02 · Understand Family Needs

We engage caregivers and local partners to understand family circumstances, identify barriers, and inform appropriate support.

04 · Monitor Progress and Learn

We use evidence and caregiver feedback to refine delivery, strengthen accountability, and inform responsible decisions about future expansion.

03 · Deliver Practical Support

We are implementing an evidence-based training program developed by the World Health Organization (WHO CST) with a program partner, Whole Family Collective, and developing complementary livelihoods and household support for eligible families.

We track programme delivery, caregiver outcomes, participant experiences and implementation costs to understand what works and where improvements are needed.
